Today, June 11, 2010, 135 delegates, board members and guests of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan District LWMLC gathered in convention at the Heritage Inn, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Theme of the convention is “The Healing Waters of Christ.”
In one of the first items of business it was noted that one of the 2007-2010 mission grants, providing Bibles for military chaplains, was unable to be completed. The amount of the grant was $3,000. In its place the voting body approved a proposal, brought forward by the board of directors, for the use of the funds.
The monies will be used to fund the creation of a resource for Lutheran Church-Canada chaplains who serve the Canadian Forces, Canadian police services and other emergency services such as fire departments, ambulance services and search and rescue.
