The wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6-6—”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths“—resonates well with God’s people. We know it to be true, and yet, it is not always easy to put these words into practice when we are faced with difficult circumstances and heart-wrenching decisions. “Good Lord, What Do I Do?” a seminar produced by LWML–Canada for the women of Lutheran Church–Canada and their friends and neighbours will help us focus on looking for “God’s direction” for “our decisions.”
This seminar provides women the opportunity to explore the Bible to discover ways God’s people approached decision-making in the past and to be empowered for God-pleasing decision-making, enabled to trust God in all circumstances and equipped to support others now and in the future.
The seminar moves through the various stages of decision-making. It starts by confirming that we face a multitude of decisions each day ranging from routine decisions about everyday tasks to overwhelming dilemmas. The seminar reaffirms where believers should turn in their decision-making. Then it explores strategies to help us live with the decisions we make. Finally, it helps participants find ways to “Shine Like Stars” as they support their friends, neighbours and loved ones with godly counsel for decision-making. Each of these stages is encapsulated in a “Good Lord” question which is answered through a variety of presentations, Bible studies, activities and discussions.
An extensive leader’s guide and a participant’s journal are provided on CD or in hard copy. One of the presentations comes on DVD that can be shown on a large screen television or with an LCD projector. Cost of a package is $10 plus shipping and handling and can be pre-ordered from the LWML–Canada Resource Centre, 3074 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y2, 1-888-596-5226, or email@example.com. The seminar package will be available at the end of February.
