Providing comfort around the world

Picture of women making dollsIn the fall of 2010, in  a workshop at their regular monthly meeting, All Saints LWMLC members learned how to knit Comfort Dolls. They were later able to send almost 100 dolls to Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR).

The group has provided their knitting pattern for the dolls. It is posted on the LWML–Canada website under the News/Events tab.

quilting groupAs many other LWMLC societies do, they also provide the comfort of quilts. A quilting group meets every Monday morning from September to May and make about 100 quilts a year from donated fabric. These quilts are shipped to a warehouse in Wetaskiwin for CLWR by Sherwood Park Home Hardware.

Comfort Dolls To raise funds for shipping quilts and dolls overseas, some of the dolls were sold to friends and members of the congregation.
