Angels of Remembrance

Angels bring memories of fellow servants.

After the banquet at the 2006 national convention in Regina, two women collected some of the doily angels decorating the tables with plans to give them to their LWMLC sisters from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cupar, Sask., who couldn’t attend. Right after the convention, two members died of cancer. Instead of giving everyone an angel, they put each lady’s name on an angel and hung these on the church’s Christmas tree. Since then, they have added more of these angels. Each angel has a name on, in remembrance of women who gave themselves to this blessed auxiliary: Evelyn Gebhart, Anna Rein, Minnie Rein, Lena Schwartz, and, more recently, Minnie Hart. All praise to God for His creation of His people and for those hands that made these remembrance gifts.
