The Northland Zone of Central District LWMLC pulled apart the theme “Growing Together in God’s Love” as they planned their spring renewal and then put it back together on April 20 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. Pastor Singh led a Bible study exploring the different types of love. Those who attended the LWML–Canada convention in Kelowna last summer shared memories of the activities they experienced and a PowerPoint presentation filled in the details. During a short business meeting, the new zone executive was introduced. In the Northland Zone, societies take turns forming the executive to eliminate the need for travel to planning meetings.
After fellowship over lunch the group rolled bandages and made hospital gowns from men’s shirts. Then it was off to Wright’s greenhouse where an ingathering of small garden tools was presented to the staff and residents of the Green Tree Group Home, a new group home in Melfort for mentally challenged adults. The day ended with a birthday devotion and cake celebrating LWML–Canada’s 20th birthday, followed by the league pledge and theme hymn, “Called to Serve.” A resident of Green Tree Group Home cut the birthday cake. A great day of love learned and shared—to God be the glory.
