Twenty-five ladies did just that at our semi-annual renewal in October at Faith Lutheran, Saskatoon.
The morning started with a definition of a blessing and looked at some Old Testament blessings conferred on God’s people and what happened to these people when disobedience (sin) became a factor. A humourous skit about a housewife doing mundane chores and grumbling about them responds to a radio announcement and donates some of these clothes to someone who needs them. She also realizes she has been very blessed. The next session looked at spiritual blessings, material blessings, fairness in blessings, people as blessings and counting our blessings.
After lunch we worked through situations which at first glance did not seem to be a blessing but realized that God can use whatever the devil throws at us for good. A second skit showed that our thoughts can be either good or bad but with our good conscience we again are very blessed and can be a blessing to someone else. We also learned that we need to share our blessings with everyone who touches our lives. In return we will receive God’s joy, inner peace and material blessings.
