Sweet Life Café doesn’t disappoint

group attending the retreatParkland Zone, ABC District LWMLC held their annual spring retreat at the 4-H Centre in Westerose, Alta., this past April. Sixty-two attended including eleven children, two facilitators and two babysitters.

Judi Luckhardt and Chantelle Lysgaard served as facilitators for the weekend. Theme for the weekend was Sweet Life Cafe. Ladies spent the weekend in Bible study and in fellowship.

A silent auction raised $2150.50. This allotment was used to keep the registration fee low. An offering was split between ABC LWMLC Travel Fund for delegates and LAMP.

Ladies who attended had this to say:

I was so pleased with the retreat, with Judi and all her work, Chantelle for her assisting, for all the ladies who attended, for how special all the children were, the babysitters did an awesome job, the music was wonderful, the food was great and most of all, our Lord was there as we shared, as we grew in our faith, as we shared with our ladies, as we were able to become closer to the women who attended, lots of neat hands on, lots of fun and fellowship. The Drumheller society did an awesome job with registration and hosting. ~Fay

A wonderful weekend spending quality time with a diverse group of Christian women reading and discussing God’s word. There was singing, bidding, eating, snacking, laughing, drinking coffee, playing games, talking and bonding. ~Doris

I thought it was a relaxed weekend but the pjs were very comfortable and a lot of new younger women attended the weekend. Great silent auction, good way to help young women attend the retreat. Good food and good company. Enjoyed the speaker and sweet cafe. ~Holly

I loved the whole weekend, spending time with my sisters in Christ. I think a good weekend is when we laugh a lot and cry just a little and the weekend did not disappoint. The presentation was great and life was pretty fine at the Sweet Life Café. ~Lynn

The Sweet Life Café was a wonderful weekend of relaxation and fellowship. It was very well organized and presented. The silent auction was fun, and all in all it was a great weekend. ~Marilyn

This was my first time attending and I went with the idea of meeting new people. I wasn’t disappointed and really bonded with my small group on Saturday as we interacted with the activities/discussions set out in the Sweet Life Cafe workbook. As always, I appreciated the company of my old friends from St. Peter’s as well. ~Sandy
